Admin: would this be useful to upload permanently to the website?

Hi guys! Just wanted to mention that the manuals are copyright protected.. I didn't notice this initially and offered to make them available at the first version of this user group back in 2009, and was approached, quite harshly actually, by Harrison.

Not having manuals available for users and potential buyers seems odd to me, and VERY unusual these days, but that's Harrison's choice. Sorry to bring this up but I would hate to see anyone here or the user group getting in trouble because of this.

We *could* ask Harrison if they still are strict on copyright for the S12 manuals in particular.. What do you say?

I really appreciate that you would consider and that Maikol did check in before making public any copyright docs, after all our IP is really no different than any other be it music, book, film etc.

As I mentioned to Maikol, generally we are quite protective of our IP. We have invested millions in it over the decades and that protective mindset while seemingly a little "harsh" is a major factor as to why after all these years, customers still have real people on the other end of the phone line or email, every day, that might be able help or provide information. It's also a major factor in why we are able to continue to innovate and bring new products to the market. It's kind of a circular thing which has worked well for us and for our customers over the years. If you haven't, check out Mixbus, Mixbus32c and the other associated software products we have, all of which relied heavily on said IP and expertise during development.

Having said that, the two documents in question above are not of great concern and I am quite OK with you sharing them on this site. As Maikol mentioned they are end user information and not very technical. I am more concerned with protecting our "technical" IP such as schematics, software etc. Please refrain from sharing any of those kinds of things.

Thanks for the input, and I am glad this can be a resource for everyone on here now. Gary is a great guy and I had the opportunity to meet him at the factory in person last year. I understand where they are all coming from in regards to IP even though it may seem strict. But at the end of the day, I'm just excited to see him on the forum now!
