Post Help！Whats the problem of control surface and how to solve it？

I am a beginner of s12 in China, I just got this s12 from Irland. After i installed the console i adjusted the voltages on the PSUs. 12.04v 5.03v at the motherboard input. Then the surfaces still showing err code.

From Ireland to China, wow, that's quite a trip ! :-)

Regarding your problem, if the whole remote panel shows weird stuff on the LED strips, that could be a serial connection problem. But it's hard to tell with so little information. We need more information to be able to try to help you :

- Are you sure you connected everything as it should be ? Do you have the full console documentation ?

- Is there an error message showing on the small red screen on the front bottom of the remote control panel ? Like something starting with "BFLT" for example ?

- Else that the remote panel, is the rest of the console working ? Does for example the touchscreen work correctly, and does changing parameters there actually change things on the audio channels ?

In any case, I hope you find out what the problem is !

A few minutes ago, i double checked all digital connection acording to the huge documentation book.

Let me tell you the connection again and please help me to check if there are problems with it.

The mac to the drawer board with two cables one master and one slave.

The drawer board to the time code generator with 9 pin cable at Hi Speed2.
Hi Speed to the monitor router with 9 pin cable at Hi Speed 1 connector on the back of monitor router and Hi Speed 2 connector to the left control surface Hi Speed connector(the left one of the bottom).

Then the other connector to the control surface right. For the excution rack, there are four connector there and i use the #1 #2 #4 connector. You can see in the picture below. The other side the big connector to the back of excution rack.

The Mac is w working, touchscreen ok.

The console is dead when it showing weird stuff. The faders will go back to the random position if i move them.
The rest part, excution rack and monitor router showing PeriPorc ROM v3.0.

Yesterday i switched on the power, and the right surface showed wierd stuff and abou one minute later it run like a diagnostic. I don' t know what it means. And after this wierd stuff showed again.

Hi again !

Ok from here the serial cabling seems alright to me, as you did it following the manual.

A few things I would try :

- In what order did you power the system ? I always let the mac boot completely before powering any other component, maybe you can try that if you haven't already ?

- Check in the mac that the automation cards are in the same order you plugged the cables. On each card there's a chip identified by "master" or "slave", they should be on the card that is connected with the same name cable of course.

- Try to dump the control panel's code. There's a procedure to do this using the green et red buttons plus e recessed black button next to the small screen at the bottom front. Check at the enf of the documentation called "setting up the Series 12", on its last page, look for "dumping peripheral processor code". This clears the control panel code and requests it again from the mac. If that works fine it means at least the connection between them is ok.

- What happens when you try to change things on the touchscreen ? Does it affect the audio passing through the channels ?

Lastly, I tried to check the google account in your link for videos and photos, but it didn't work.

So i checked the master and slave chips again and the cables were in the right position.

You mean open the Harrison software before power the other parts? or just power mac first?

I think i've lost those pages you told me, i didn't find this chapter in my documentation.
